🚨 ACTION: Solidarity Rally for elder Altadena Tenants on Tuesday 4/29

5:30pm at 2439 N. Lincoln Ave. in Altadena

Dear Neighbors,

Join us for a solidarity rally in support of elder Altadena tenants THIS TUESDAY, 4/29, at 5:30pm outside the Mirador apartment complex in Altadena (2439 N. Lincoln Ave.)

As the Eaton Fire tore across Altadena, countless elders, including those who depend on wheelchairs and walkers, were abandoned in their senior living complex. With no backup power, the elevators and garage doors shut down, and elders were forced to self-evacuate by physically dragging themselves down multiple flights of stairs in complete darkness. Many have been left with severe injuries and trauma, which is compounded by landlord-tenant issues and eviction threats.

In response, the residents have now formed the El Mirador Alliance to tell their stories and demand better living conditions from those responsible. They are inviting community members and neighbors to rally in support - let’s show up for them!

ATU will be onsite in solidarity and support on Tuesday along with our comrades from the Fire Poppy Project, NDLON (National Day Laborer Organizing Network), the Pasadena Community Job Center, Pasadena Tenants Union, and more. Come support our elders and help us spread the word!
